Doctor Gomez began studying General Medicine in 1982 at the University of Quindio and graduated in 1990. In 1991 he travelled to France to specialize in Aesthetic and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at AIX University in Marseille. While in France he also received diplomas in Pediatric Plastic Surgery and Microsurgery.

In 2002 the Gomez-Arbalaez Clinic was opened to accommodate the practices of both Dr. Gomez and that of his wife Dr. Arbalaez, a dermatologist.
